It's been 3 years since it opened but never had a feeling of visiting, by chance we decided to have dinner here. Man, 1st time ever didn't find a single flaw in their service, food, ambience whatever yu say. Mutton liver gravy was a heaven to taste, and every other food was delicious. 2000 for 3 people, but actually felt VFM. Good job guys

Great food from Madurai ! Had their Mutta Laba , Kari Dosa , Mutton nenju Roast and Rasamalai in pot ! Everything were tasty and service was good too ... Some might find it a bit pricey , but for good food we're ready to pay even more 😜

On a trip to Chennai and visited this place. Ordered Veg meals and chili chicken as accompaniment. What is good: The curries they served are really awesome in taste. I do not know how, but chili chicken got some sweetness along with spiciness. However, I liked it to the core. And on request, they served curd instead of buttermilk which is really good.

This place is bliss if u can get the orders right. We had ordered curry dosa and mutton chukka. Which was sooper good and the portion was tummy filling. I cudnt eat more Ethan one curry dosa. It's a bit heavy. The boneless chicken was also tasty and the parottas were soft too.

Walking into Kumar Mess you will know this place is all about the food. Green and white tables, with a few sofas on smooth, easy-to-clean floors constitute the decor. Unless you count the clock and the pictures of food the walls display. Clearly, this place is all about the food that is served on banana leaves, making it that much more authentic and closer to the way food is served in Madurai. The mutton also comes from Madurai, as the chefs found it more tender. Fish, again, sourced from the same place, is either Viraal or Ira – during season.
