About Saleem's Take Away

Saleem’s was started back in 1977 by Mr. Md. Saleem Quereshi. He was born to a quereshi family, who were the raw meat experts. Mr. Saleem went beyond his family business for his passion for food. He used to handle his raw meat business during the daytime and tried new recipes every evening.

He started his first outlet in Kailash Colony, New Delhi. Over the time, Mr. Saleem realised that his recipes should be known to the world and therefore he started a bar be que. In no time he started receiving great public response which filled him with zest of making more authentic mughlai dishes. Later, he started serving gravy dishes as well, which was again a phenomenal success.His hardwork and determination gave him unexpected results. He used to get up at 3 in the morning and go to the slaughter house so that he can get the best quality of meat. He used to carry out all the preparations single handed and then he used to sell his dishes from noon to midnight. Soon, Saleem’s Kebab corner became a renowned name in South Delhi and in very short time it took shape of a fine dine restaurant.

The next generation gave it a whole new shape , took it to the new heights of success and made Saleem’s a brand name in the market. Now the show is run by his three sons – Md. Nayeem, Md. Haseen and Md. Moein. Mr. Saleem worked on the principle of BWG which stands for – Baadshah Wazir Ghulam Quality of meat is Baadshah, Chef is the wazir and spices are the ghulam.
